The Data Service team will implement and embed data governance and management practices across the University using formal networks and technology.

The team will consolidate existing data architecture and governance expertise, developing generalised services while still being aligned to the programme need. By creating a centralised team the Service will help to mitigate risks around single points of failure, giving data a more resilient and efficient home.

The Service will establish a centralised Data Engineering function. This will lead the University towards a service model aligned to the emerging Digital Transformation Strategy. Investment in Data Engineering will deliver strategic capabilities such as data integration, trusted data and the move to the cloud.
